Marilyn Cagin at Mandel JCC's Festival of Jewish Books and Authors
Book Title: Helen, A Memoir
Free and Open to the Public (RESERVATIONS REQUIRED)
"Cleveland's own" Marilyn Cagin believes that "every life is a story" and set out to tell the story of her mother, Helen.
In the process, she discovered a fascinating family history and a host of other stories that just had to be told. "every immigrant that ever came into this country has a story to tell," she says in the introduction to Helen, A Memoir. "This is about my immigrant family, but it's written in hopes that others will be encouraged to do the same." Helen was born in the mountains of Transylvania and came to America in 1923. The book details the joys, sorrows, trials and triumphs Helen and her family faced throughout their lives.
