Al Gray at the Mandel JCC's Festival of Jewish Books and Authors
Book Title: Absolutely Al
Free and Open to the Public (RESERVATIONS REQUIRED)
"Cleveland's own" Al Gray is a longtime leader, philanthropist and community activist in both the Jewish and general communities. A past president of the mandel JCC Board (1979-1981), Al's continued involvement with the agency and the Alvin, Lottie and Rachel Gray Lecture Series make him an important presence in the life of the center.
By all counts, Al Gray has led a remarkably successful life. He conquered Wall Street, was on the frontlines in the battle to win freedom for Soviet Jews and has dedicated many resources to philanthropic organizations. But he has also experienced numerous setbacks. Al was haunted by nightmares about the mysterious disappearance of his beloved father and a twist of fate saved him and his family from death aboard an airplane.
Come hear Al tell his life story in his own words!
"Al Gray has shown strong character and a commitment to helping others. This biography follows the story of an Ohioan who refuses to be categorized or defined, and describes the twists and turns of a life well led." U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown
