CPA Hollywood Bowl
Join the CPA at the Hollywood Bowl for scenes from Walt Disney's animated masterpiece FANTASIA on the Bowl's big screen, ACCOMPANIED LIVE with its timeless classical music. There's also a glimpse into unfinished segments of the film and a FIREWORKS display!
The CPA has a block of tickets in the R2 seating section for $21.00 each ($7.25 off the regular price)! http://www.hollywoodbowl.com/tickets/seating-chart.cfm
**NOTE: Children under two do not require a ticket.**
------- TRANSPORTATiON ------- Parking at the Bowl is very limited and they use "stack parking", which makes getting out after the concert extremely slow. So we won't be organizing the "classical" CPA carpooling, and we will suggest options for mass transport instead.
The two main options are: - to take the Pasadena Bowl Shuttle (which departs from Pasadena public parking lot, 240 Ramona St, where you can park for free) - to take the METRO from Pasadena to Hollywood and then a free shuttle to the bowl (there are just 0.8 miles from the Metro station to the bowl, so you can also walk).
Below are more details about these two options, as well as a couple of options for people who want to drive there.
Each person will be in charge of choosing their preferred way to the bowl and purchasing their own transport tickets.
----- DETAILED OPTIONS ----- OPTION 1. Drive/bike/walk to the Pasadena Shuttle lot and ride the Bowl Shuttle to the Bowl - Parking: FREE - Location: Pasadena public parking lot, 240 Ramona St., northeast corner of Marengo Ave. and Ramona St. Entrance to parking area is off Ramona St. - Shuttle departure times: 5:05, 5:10, 5:30, 5:45, 6:00 & 6:30 pm - Cost: $5 per person round trip when pre-purchased (plus $4.25 TicketMaster fees...), $8 per person when purchased at the lot. When purchasing at the lot the night of the concert please bring exact change ($8) and arrive at least 20 minutes early. Passengers with pre-purchased Park & Ride tickets will be given boarding preference. http://www.hollywoodbowl.com/visit/laphil_presents_events.cfm
OPTION 2. Drive/bike/walk to a Pasadena METRO station, ride the METRO to Hollywood & Highland and take Bowl Shuttle to the Bowl - Parking: FREE (at Fillmore station) - Cost: Shuttle ride is free when you show your Metro Red Line ticket (metro rail stops right next to the shuttle). - Shuttle departure times: Shuttle starts running at 5.00pm and leaves every 10-15min. http://www.hollywoodbowl.com/visit/bowlbus_shuttle.cfm#map
The metro ride from Pasadena to Hollywood/Highland takes about 1 hour (Gold line to Union Station and Red line to Hollywood/Highland station). The return trip is $5. There is free parking at Fillmore station here in Pasadena (http://www.metro.net/riding_metro/metro_rail/gl_fillmore.htm). Just show your metro ticket when leaving the parking structure and they won't charge you. There is just 0.8 miles from the Hollywood/Highland Metro station to the Bowl. Taking the shuttle is nice on the way there (up hill), but to go back to the station after the concert walking is probably faster (10-15min walk, down hill). The last Metro Red Line connection with Metro Gold Line to Pasadena leaves the Hollywood/Highland station at 11.22pm
OPTION 3. Drive to LA Zoo Lot or to the Ventura Lot and ride the Bowl Shuttle to the Bowl - Parking: FREE - Round-trip shuttle cost: $4.00 per person (exact change on site). Available in advance through TicketMaster (available online and by phone until two weeks prior to concert, convenience charges apply). - Shuttle departure times: Shuttle starts running at 5.00pm and leaves every 10-20min. http://www.hollywoodbowl.com/visit/bowlbus_shuttle.cfm#map
OPTION 4. Ride your own car and park at the Bowl Parking prices are $14-30. Arrive early to ensure availability. All parking lots are stack parked and there is no early exit. Expect long delays and heavy traffic on your way out. http://www.hollywoodbowl.com/visit/getting-to-the-bowl/bowl-parking-donorvalet.cfm
