LITQUAKE PRESENTS THOMAS MCGUANE IN CONVERSATION WITH JACK BOULWARE
Thomas McGuane has enjoyed a long career as writer and screenwriter, and is the only member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters who is also in the National Cutting Horse Association Hall of Fame. From the comic pyrotechnics of his early novels, to his part in the freewheeling 1970s arts community of Livingston, Montana (including Richard Brautigan, Jim Harrison, and Sam Peckinpah), to his later works characterized by an increased connection to the natural world, he has retained his stature as one of America's most original writers. This conversation with Litquake co-founder Jack Boulware will explore many subjects: the longevity of a writing career, the collision of the Old and New West, and why horses are cool. Book sales and signing to follow.
Thomas McGuane is author of nine novels, three works of nonfiction, and two collections of stories. His latest, "Driving on the Rim," has just been released in paperback. He lives on a ranch in McLeod, Montana. Jack Boulware is a San Francisco Library Laureate, author of three nonfiction books, and co-founder of Litquake. He grew up on a ranch in Montana.
