High Rise
SCANDALESQUE TO PREMIERE MAJOR NEW SPECTACLE "HIGH RISE" AT VENUE 104
Scandalesque will debut a major new spectacle of dance theatre, burlesque, and cirque arts at the newly-opened Tempe theater Venue 104 beginning September 9th and 10th, 2011, with later dates to be determined.
The new show, entitled "High Rise," will feature the Scandalesque cast performing their signature live singing, dancing, trapeze striptease, and Blazing Bustiers. Noted jazz musician Dan Puccio will be joining the performance with live saxophone, and both nights' festivities will be overseen by Madam of Ceremonies Pandora De Strange.
"The term High Rise can bring about many associations," comments Scandalesque artistic director Pyrhha when asked about the title of the performance. "It makes you think of the long legs of our dancers, the tall urban buildings outside the venue, our up-in-the-air acrobatics. Or," she adds with a smile, "it might refer to the high rises we get out the men in the audience. We'll leave the rest up to your imagination."

Scandalesque is a Phoenix-based burlesque and cabaret show with a vaudevillian aesthetic. Founded in November 2004 by Julianna Curtis (Lady Fontayne) and Christy Zandlo (Pyrrha Sutra), two local professional dancers and choreographers, Scandalesque Productions LLC and Vega Arts were created to cultivate performing arts within Phoenix and to generate more opportunities for local artists.
