Global Classroom extends the mission of the World Affairs Council to K-12 schools; connects over 4,000 teachers and their students with international resources, ideas and people through programs that respond to the needs of educators as lifelong learners; encourage teachers to model for their students what it means to be a world citizen and educates and empowers the next generation of global leaders.
The World Affairs Council Board of Trustees invites you to join us for a day of fun on Holland America Line's ms Amsterdam. The third ship to bear the name of the Dutch capital, the ms Amsterdam has numerous artistic jewels present on its four stories of massive beauty. The Planeto Astrolabium, a commissioned work of art which tracks heavenly bodies, world time and ship time, is located mid-ship. Art Deco pieces that originally resided on the Nieuw Amsterdam of 1938 are featured on the ship. Plus, works of revered maritime artist Stephen Card are located throughout main areas. Amidst the beauty of this truly international ship we invite you to come and be a part of the World Affairs Council's efforts to raise funds for the Global Classroom program.
