The boys in AREA CODE 812 all have roots in the region of southern Indiana referenced in their name. But their musical roots go much farther south...and east, west & north! At any given show, you may be treated to some of the best traditional bluegrass music you've ever heard, and the next song might be blues, classic rock, country of folk. Whatever they choose, it's going to be fun and well-done! Vocalist TIM WRIGHT can take you from a warm, intimate moment with a James Taylor tune straight to hard-core bluegrass, Beatles, Eric Clapton, Merle Haggard, Byrds, John Prine or Bob Dylan quicker than Ferrari can take you from 0 to 60! He's a human jukebox with decades of experience as a member of legendary Indiana band, The Wright Brothers. His world-class guitar & banjo playing is taken to the next level when paired with right-hand man, MICHAEL CLARK's intense acoustic guitar skills. He's honed his skills through years of recording session work with everyone from John Mellencamp to Rodney Carrington and as a producer, has two Gold Records under his belt and a long list of happy clients. From lightning-fast & squeaky- clean flat-picking leads booming out of a vintage Martin, to tasty & delicate 12-string lines that transport listeners back to the best music from the '60's, Michael does it all! The last piece of the trio is upright bassist and emcee, DEAN METCALF. Dean holds down the bottom while Tim & Michael fly high with musical precision that must be seen to be believed. In between songs, his years of producing The Bob & Tom Show on morning radio kick in.
He keeps things moving with whatever banter pops into his head, typically getting laughs from folks in the audience as well as his band mates on-stage.
All of this fun is accompanied by stellar musicianship and 3 part harmony from a band with about 120 years of professional musical experience between just the three of them!
