thisisitisthisit (Shit Shit Shit): A Map of the Known World by The Plastic Arts
"Dear friends, close acquaintances and strangers, fellow countrymen, people of all countries of all continents: in a few minutes a mighty spaceship will carry me into the distant regions of the universe. What can I tell you in these few minutes before launching?"
Thus begins -- or ends -- a discursion [sic] through the ever-shifting landscapes of The Great Explorers: the New World, the South Pole, the deep, dark sea, and, finally, outer space (not to mention inner). thisisitisthisit (Shit Shit Shit): A Map of the Known World is part lecture, part travelogue, part explorer's log, part cartographic mission, and part lonely letter home -- a hopeful treatise on newness, in all its thrilling and occasionally disheartening truth(s).
