Tokusatsu Tuesdays presents NINJASCOPE: MAGIC WORLD OF NINJAS
The feature-length NINJASCOPE: THE MAGIC WORLD OF NINJAS is professionally dubbed in English and has never before been seen in America (not in a theater, never on TV!)! Be there for the U.S. debut of this swordplay/fantasy adventure, with its unintended humor, giant monsters, and old school special effects. Recommended for all ages! It's "dai-kaiju meets ninjas"!
The 1967 movie is hosted by Damon Foster. Foster is still best known for the groundbreaking publication ORIENTAL CINEMA (the grand-daddy of all the Asian film-zines), which he began publishing in 1978. Before the internet came along, the magazine had a print-run in the thousands was sold in stores all over the world, and covered a wide variety of genres (Japanese superheroes/monsters, Korean oddities, low-budget Filipino movies, vintage anime, old-school kung fu films and more) when most other fanzines wouldn't touch the stuff.
But Damon's involvement in the fandom is more than just ORIENTAL CINEMA. Over the decades, he's also written for other magazines (ranging from FILM THREAT to G-FAN), and is an accomplished film- maker. He's played zombies in THE DEAD PIT and THE RETARDEAD, created countless martial arts DVDs (his acrobatic stunts have hospitalized him more than once), and can also be seen in his online podcasts: SATANIC VIEWS and ORIENTAL CINEMA: THE WEBCAST. In addition, he's written liner notes for the DVD of INFRAMAN, and has personally translated, audio-dubbed & released rare Asian movies to America; films such as SHAOLIN VS. TERMINATOR, HERO FLASH, MARTYR X, RETURN OF THE MAGIC SERPENT, and his most recent release, MONKEY WAR (Taiwan; 1982).
