Summer's Twilight in the Garden
The Audubon Center at Bent of the River in Southbury will host their annual fundraiser at the distinctively-stunning Pine Meadow Gardens. As attendees stroll the numerous gardens, they will be entertained with vignette presentations of dancers, musicians, illustrators, and live bird demonstrations. Butterfly, bird and plant experts will be on hand. Appetizers, beverages and wines will be available.
Rain date Sunday, August 30, 2:30 to 6:00 PM. The Audubon Center's mission is to conserve and restore natural ecosystems, focusing on birds, other wildlife and their habitats. Located along the Pomperaug River and bordering Little Pootatuck Brook, the Audubon Center at Bent of the River nature center and sanctuary is a private, not-for-profit organization that protects over 700 acres of numerous natural ecosystems, habitats, un-fragmented forest, grasslands, meadows, swamps and a portion of the Pomperaug River.
The non-profit Audubon Center is located in the Southbury hamlet of South Britain. Admission $50/adult/18 and older. Tickets can be purchased in advance at http://bentoftheriver.audubon.org, or August 23, 2015 at 22 Old Waterbury Road. Rain date is August 30th. For information, call 203.264.5098.
