36th Annual San Francisco Standup Comedy Competition
Now entering its 36th year, the San Francisco International Comedy Competition is one of America's longest-running and most prestigious comedy contests. Every year hundreds of performers from around the world attempt to take part, but only 30 are chosen. The comedians will perform at a large variety of venues all around the Bay Area as they attempt to move past the preliminary rounds into the semi-finals and into the winner's circle, featuring one of the largest cash prizes of any comedy competition in the nation. The 2011 competition promises to be an exciting year, with great talents from all over already eager to try their luck and become the stars of tomorrow. Previous contestants have included Robin Williams, Ellen Degeneres, Dane Cook, Dana Carvey, Patton Oswalt, Kevin Pollack, Louis CK and many more. With multiple shows in different venues over the course of a week, the San Francisco International Comedy Competition is one of the most unique and greatest tests of a comedians' ability, with a race to the finish that no other competition can duplicate. Tickets are $15 advance/$20 at the door if they are still available.
