The Femme Show VIP Hometown Show and reception
In the Streets Productions is proud to present The Femme Show at UForge Gallery on Friday, August 12, 2011 at 7:30 PM to launch their summer tour. This event will offer their local audience an intimate life performance experience.
On their second East Coast tour, a stellar cast will bring The Femme Show's unique perspective on femininity, gender, queerness and sexuality to cities throughout the Northeast. Now in it's fifth year, The Femme Show uses dance, burlesque, drag, spoken word, puppets, and more to give audiences new ways and new reasons to think about gender, femininity, and desire.
UForge Gallery, the newest fine art gallery in Boston, is located at 767 Centre Street, Jamaica Plain . Tickets are available for $15 in advance at www.thefemmeshow.com and $20 at the door. Refreshments will be provided by local including Taza Chocolate, Monumental Cupcakes, and Ula Cafe.
The Femme Show is queer art for queer people, with a variety of diverse perspectives on queer femininity that can be thoughtful, sad, funny, sexy, and fun. In October of 2007, the first-ever Femme Show sold out and received rave reviews from audience members who called it "wild, raw, transparent, and unique," and "a fantastic, funny, powerful show."
