Starring Terrence Currier with Eli Staple
A delightful meander though myriad musical influences from Vaudeville and the popular songs of the big band era, through World War 2, the folk era to Broadway and beyond as interpreted by actor, singer songwriter, Terrence Currier , a veteran of over 150 stage roles including some 80 productions at Arena Stage over a span of 25 years.
He began his career in 1940 singing and dancing with his late brother Tom in his Father's vaudeville act.He has appeared on Broadway in the smash hit revival of "Damn Yankees" with Beebe Neuwirth and Jerry Lewis and at the Kennedy Center in the pre-Broadway run of the ill-fated "Annie 2 " and most recently in the fabulous "Follies" . He is accompanied by his music director, brilliant young pop/jazz pianist,songwriter Eli Staple. The evening will include songs from such diverse composers as Jaques Brel, Dave Frishberg, Fats Waller, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, the Gershwins,Tom Lehrer, Andre Previn and Johnny Mercer.
