The Local Music Scene Presents Eric Mitchell (8-22)
Every month, a different local musician is interviewed and performs their original music. Having listened closely, the comedians from the local improv group The Local Music Scene then take the words and themes brought up through the songs and interview and use them as the basis and inspiration for their improvised scenes.
The Local Music Scene is: Alex Collyard, Philip Simondet, Luke Gonnella, Jeff Gyllen, Caroline Hitt, Gubby Kubik, Erik Nielsen, Will Roberts and Ali Rose. They are an improv group that has trained and performed at various local improv theater, including The Brave New Workshop, ComedySportz Twin Cities, HUGE Theater, Stevie Ray's and Jesters. All of them either ARE local musicians or at least enjoy local music. At the VERY least, they've heard the term "local music."
August guest: With a deep burning passion for sound, Eric has leaped from the traditional, to the modern, and into the obscure. Having spent the better part of a decade pushing his own inner workings, from hip hop to blues, country to psychedelic, Eric pulls inspiration from many platforms to impart his listeners with a dichotomy of sensations that will push your cognitive confounderies. Currently working with 622 Symphony (Psychedelic Rock) and Thicky White (blues/country/rock) and on hiatus from The Jelly Project, Eric continues to tear the envelope of sonic exploration. Come join him for an aural experience that will excite your senses.
