Patti Smith presents M Train
Patti Smith presents M Train In conversation with interviewer TBA Tickets $25 (includes a copy of the book) Part of the Brooklyn Voices Series presented by Greenlight Bookstore and St. Joseph's College
Patti Smith, legendary musician and National Book Award-winning author of Just Kids, returns to memoir with her new book M Train. With prose that shifts between dreams and reality, and across a landscape of creative inspiration, M Train illustrates Smith's deepest literary obsessions, augmented by her own stunning black-and-white Polaroids. Woven through accounts of days in Mexico, Berlin, Michigan and Greenwich Village are Smith's reflections on the writer's craft and on artistic creation, along with the irremediable loss of her husband, guitarist Fred Sonic Smith. Loss, as well as the consolation we might salvage from it, lies at the heart of this exquisite meditation on endings and on beginnings.
Greenlight and St. Joseph's College host Smith for a reading and discussion of her work, followed by a book signing.

Signing policies: Patti Smith will only sign copies of M Train; no other books or items will be signed. No personalization available. Photographs while in the signing line are permitted, but Smith cannot pose for photos.
