PENINSULA PASTRIES AND PROSE
Peninsula Pastries and Prose
A unique fundraiser for Litquake!

What do you get when you combine three bestselling fiction authors, a sunny afternoon in Palo Alto, tea and bellinis, scones and cookies? Litquake's first-ever Author Tea! We admit this sounds like a female fantasy, but we also encourage men who are in touch with their feminine side and want to hear a great discussion about modern fiction by three brilliant scribes: Meg Waite Clayton, Ann Packer and Ellen Sussman. Proceeds to benefit Litquake. Attendance is limited to just 25 lucky people, so don't delay in responding!

Location will be Meg Waite Clayton's lovely home in Palo Alto (address to be given to ticket-buyers).

MEG WAITE CLAYTON is the nationally bestselling author of" The Four Ms. Bradwells," "The Wednesday Sisters," and the Bellwether Prize finalist "The Language of Light." Her fourth novel will be published by Ballantine in 2013. Her short stories and essays have appeared in the anthology "Searching for Mary Poppins," as well as Runner's World, Writers' Digest, The Virginia Quarterly Review, Shenandoah, Other Voices, The Literary Review and numerous other publications.

ANN PACKER received a Great Lakes Book Award for "The Dive from Clausen's Pier," which was a national bestseller. She is also the author of "Swim Back to Me," "Mendocino and Other Stories," and "Songs Without Words." She is a past recipient of a James Michener award and a National Endowment for the Arts fellowship. Her fiction has appeared in The New Yorker, Ploughshares, and other magazines, as well as in "Prize Stories 1992: The O. Henry Awards." She lives in San Carlos.

ELLEN SUSSMAN is the author of The New York Times bestselling novel "French Lessons," published by Ballantine in July. Her first novel, On a Night Like This, was a San Francisco Chronicle bestseller and was translated into six languages. She is also the editor of two anthologies, Dirty Words: A Literary Encyclopedia Of Sex and Bad Girls: 26 Writers Misbehave, and an acclaimed writing teacher. She and her husband Neal Rothman live in Los Altos Hills.
