Radio Star
Radio Star was nominated for Best English language Production and Just For Laugh's Best Comedy at the Montreal Fringe Festival. Watch (but mainly listen) as Tanya O'Debra lends her voice to ten different characters while simultaneously staging silly sound effects in this filthy, filthy, dirty 1940's radio detective spoof. Just like the golden age of radio, only dirtier.

"Side-splittingly hilarious the best one-woman show I've seen" -- Three Weeks, Edinburgh

"Tanya O'Debra's smutty yet classy spoof of 1940s radio drama is the most theatrically accomplished show (writing and performance) I've seen yet at this year's Fringe." -- Montreal Gazette

"Mesmerizing... a true gem and a must-see for all Fringe goers." ***** Charlebois Post
"An absurd cross between John Waters and Raymond ChandlerRadio Star is a raunchy blast" -- Flavorpill NYC
"Clever, original, and unflinchingly funny." --Broadway World
"There can be no doubting O'Debra's talent: she's got a vocal arsenal that puts Saturday Night Live's Kristin Wiig to shame." --New York Press
TANYA O'DEBRA is an art-doer. Her play Radio Star was nominated for three New York Innovative Theatre Awards including Outstanding Full Length Script, Outstanding Actress in a Leading Role and Outstanding Original Music. Radio Star has played at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe as well as New York venue's Ars Nova and The Red Room, and is published by Original Works. Formerly of comedic sister act, The O'Debra Twins, Miss O'Debra was the co-host of the popular open mic SHOW AND TELL at the renowned Bowery Poetry Club in New York City for five years. Miss O'Debra was the co-writer, co-director, and a cast member of Fuck You or Dead Pee-holes; an American Tale in 13 Acts, which won the top award at the New York International Fringe Festival. She plays Patrice O'Debra in Straight Up Vampire, a perennial favorite at Joe's Pub at The Public, and she recently appeared as the Evil Queen in The New Acting Company's production of Snow White.
