Flamenco Aliolé

Aliolé is a flamenco troupe based in the Northwest of the United States. The three women that compose the group-cante singer Diana Bright and dancers Melinda Hedgecorth and Laura Onizuka- represent everything that is strong, yet feminine about flamenco. Dianas powerful, emotive voice, Melindas percussive footwork, and Lauras willowy body, together with guitar, form an intricate union of movement and sound. In their performances a gentle lift of the hand contrasted with driving rhythms create the overlapping sensations that characterize Aliolé.
Melinda arrives to perform from her home of seven years, Sevilla, Spain, where she continues to give performances and develop as an artist. Diana and Laura have trained and performed with flamenco masters from all over the world. Each brings her own story and experiences to one of the most soulful mediums in the world of song and dance, flamenco.
