Awarded silver medal for Best Beer Festival by the 2015 Willamette Week Oregon Beer Awards, the Hood River Hops Fest is an annual celebration of beer's bitter friend, freshly harvested hops.
Hood River County is surrounded by world-renowned hop growing regions, and since 2003, brewers have gathered each September in downtown Hood River to share their fresh-hop beer creations. This family-friendly event features more than 40 breweries with over 60 fresh hop beers. Showing off their seasonal brews will be numerous local breweries including Double Mountain Brewery, Full Sail Brewing and pFriem Family Brewers and regional and national heavyweights. There will also be a small selection of local hop ciders. A full list of participating breweries will be announced in early September.
This year, we're excited to announce the addition of the Brewer's Tent (21+ only). Hang out with the brewers behind your favorite fresh-hop microbrews, get a whopping 15 3.5-ounce taste tokens and a commemorative glass mug, and enjoy 100% grass-fed beef sliders from Painted Hills Natural Beef. Note, we are no longer offering a one-hour VIP tasting hour. The Brewers Tent is an all-day perk (12pm-8pm) to those who purchase $50 tickets in advance.
In addition to fresh-hops beer and cider, Hood River Hops Fest features local cuisine, wine from Naked Winery, arts and crafts vendors from the Northwest, a children's play area, fun contests, and a day-long line-up of live music, with local and regional musicians. Children are welcome throughout the afternoon until 5 PM; in the evening, the venue is open to adults only until closing. Sorry, no pets allowed.
