THE ELECTRIC CAVE - BLUE
Most of us have heard about the "Lost Generation" of the 50's and early 60's - many of us ARE the Lost Generation. Where did we go? Did we ever find ourselves? Childhood in the Eisenhower and Kennedy years was a bit like being in Plato's cave, and more often than not Music was the way out (or at least the best entertainment while we were there). Like the Pied Piper of the fairy tale, this play ties a lot of disparate critters together with its merry tunes - nuclear fears, space invaders, the Red scare, the new authority of science, and, of course, all important school politics. Only young people could tell this story with its hopes, melodrama, and passionate surrealism.
