Violinistextremist An explosive one-woman electric violinist knock-out! Kytami is a violin revolutionary. An unbelievably energetic performer, she bounds between classical and fiddle styles, pitting them against heavy bass and electronic dance beats and then commits a 360, executing her skills against the pounding of skins in punk rock and metal. With her abilities, style and devilish smile, she has won over audience after audience, appearing at most major festivals across Canada and the Western U.S. as well as performing overseas in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Berlin and Dubai.
When Kytami came down from the mountains back to the city of Vancouver it was to release her debut album, "Conflation". The album was a concept, featuring tracks recorded with a variety of hip-hop producers in different studios, the one cohesive element being Kytami's electric violin. After it's release, Kytami quickly became in demand as a performer and session player. She has written and performed with the dancehall/hip-hop group Third Eye Tribe and the indie band Lownote, who released two albums. Most recently she has been writing and touring extensively with the world-class act Delhi 2 Dublin. Their two self-released full-length albums charted at #1 and #3 in the World Music category and their debut release garnered the group a Western Canadian Music Award. Further proof of her diversity, she has also appeared on albums of such bands as The Rebel Spell and Swollen Members and collaborated live on stage with metal band Goatsblood and legendary dub producer The Mad Professor.
Kytami is currently heading back into the studio to finish up a second solo album. She continues to rock dance floors as a part of a duo with turntablist/producer DJ The Phonograff.
