The beauty of "Kaiseki"
"Kaiseki" is one of the styles of Japanese cuisine, a course style Japanese cuisine made of various seasonal ingredients and cooked by variety of cooking methods. With monthly theme based on Japanese culture, the Japanese Kaiseki chef, Hiro Tawara will serve you a beautiful and delicious course of 5 dishes including a dessert. The theme of July event will "Tanabata" (Start Festival).
"Tanabata" originates from Chinese legend of the two bright stars, Alter and Vega. It is a romantic story that they can meet only once in a year, on July 7th across the Milky way and we decorate bamboo branches with paper strips and some ornaments to celebrate their reunion in Japan. We believe that a wish comes true hen you write your wish on the paper strips and hang them on the bamboo branches.
This time, I am going to serve "Kaiseki" for you to enjoy the month of June along with the theme of "Tanabata". I am also going to use lots of local and seasonal ingredients to cook this "Kaiseki" course. I hope you will enjoy it.
