Mentorship for the Next Generation of Theater Professionals
2010-2011 FURY Apprentice: Casey Hudak At just 19 years of age, Casey Hudak, native to Orinda California and entering sophomore at St John's College, has written 8 full-length plays and comedy shorts for the stage. This FURY Apprenticeship play production of his play, Gigantic, marks his professional debut.
Program Overview: "I feel like this process has changed me as a person and as an actor"
Goals: -Fostering practical skills for the next generation of performing artists in order for them to both create and sustain a future career in the theater. -Mentoring young people, helping cultivate leadership and communication skills necessary for a healthy personal and professional life. -Creating new performance experiences which use the foolsFURY model of ensemble creation-making. -Joining new audiences with young artists in dynamic dialogue.
Description: The FURY Apprenticeship program was designed to bridge the journey from school to professional career in the theater. In our youth education program over the years, we identified focused, passionate, talented young artists in need of greater challenges and mentorship. This program provides hours of one-on-one encouragement and skill-building, creating a foundation for positive self-growth while being held accountable for a professional project.
