Energy Upgrade California's Retrofit Bonanza
Two years after the initial excitement about ARRA funding for the existing home market, Energy Upgrade California is finally moving into high gear. EUC's marketing campaign is hitting the airwaves in communities around state with an enhanced web portal and consistent market branding. Advertising budgeted for PG&E's territory is $11 million with $80 million for project rebates. The utility reports as of June, 400 projects have been completed with rebates averaging $2700, indicating a high percentage of comprehensive energy upgrades (Basic receiving - $1000, Advanced up to $4,000/ $7,000 in SF).
This session will provide a full program overview with a focus on program accelerators that contractors will need to succeed in this fast moving environment. Of special interest is SF Environment's Whole Neighborhood Approach (WNA) pilot program that will be using economies of scale to roll out numerous retrofits in neighborhoods with similarly configured homes.

Mindy Craig, Owner and Principal, BluePoint Planning Mindy is currently heading up BluePoint's contract with MIG, a planning and consulting firm, leading a statewide marketing and communications program for Energy Upgrade California.
Speakers:
Jeffery Liang, Energy Upgrade Specialist, Ecology Action Jeffery is responsible for Bay Area coordination of EUC's on-the-ground program delivery including community-appropriate outreach, education, and training.
Friday Apaliski, Department of the Environment, City & County of San Francisco Friday will be speaking about San Francisco's Whole Neighborhood Approach (WPA) pilot program, part of a statewide effort lead by David Energy Group, with the intention of bring economies of scale to existing home retrofits.
Bachi Brunato, Ultimate Home Performance Bachi is co-owner with Amanda Brunato of Ultimate Home Performance, a licensed general contractor certified by the Building Performance Institute (BPI), utilizing a Whole House approach to increase comfort, reduce energy costs, and lessen your carbon footprint.
John Walker, Energy Efficiency Technical Consultant, Solar City John was formerly with Sustainable Spaces, and it's successor company, Recurve, acting as a building analyst. He's currently certified by the Building Performance Institute (BPI).
