How does the television writer thrive against the challenges of online competition, DVR, cable, and satellite? What do cutting costs mean to the working writer? To the writer trying to get staffed? What does the future hold for the scripted television writer? What's the current state of the market? A panel of writers, execs and agents.

How do you deliver on great expectations? How does the process in the writers' room work? How do you develop the through story over time?

2:30 PANEL THE 800 POUND GORILLA What exactly is involved in being a showrunner? Join a panel of writer producers as they discuss their current status as both writers and production entities. How did they get their show to hit status and how do they keep it there? How do they take care of their own writing careers while also running a hit show? How do they guide other writers the process that they themselves have successfully navigated? How do they balance work and real life? What will they do differently next time?

4:30 PANEL BREAKING IN Join a panel of writers as they share their experiences of breaking into the television business. How did they break in? What did they do? How long did it take? What is their advice to up and coming writers who've yet to be staffed? What was some of the best and worst advice they got when they were trying to break in? What are the keys to not just breaking in but staying in the business?
