Hairspray at Roustabout
Roustabout Theater, the resident theater company of the Wells Fargo Center for the Arts, presents its acclaimed Apprentice Program's Summer Theater Camp production of Tony award-winning Best Musical, Hairspray.
Hairspray - winner of eight Tony awards and playing over six years on Broadway - is piled bouffant-high with laughter, romance and enough exuberant singing and dancing to fill a nonstop platter party!
Welcome to the '60s! Tracy Turnblad, a Baltimore girl with big hair and an even bigger heart, has only one passion to dance on The Corny Collins Show! But can this unexpected trendsetter vanquish the reigning princess, catch the eye of heartthrob Link Larkin and integrate the showall without denting her 'do?!
Hairspray plays July 29 31, 2011 at the Wells Fargo Center for the Arts. Tickets are $16 - $26 and are available at www.roustabout-theater.org or at (800) 838-3006.
Roustabout Theater was nominated as "Theater of the Year" by Broadwayworld.com and its Journeymen Company's production of "3Penny Cabaret" was also nominated as "Best Theater Event". Roustabout's mission is to create a vibrant regional theater and unparalleled actor training program. Roustabout's Apprentice Program trains the county's most extraordinary student performers ages 11 - 21 through its professionally-produced productions and unique Master Classes with Tony Award winners, Broadway actors and nationally recognized Casting Directors. In operation since 2006, Roustabout Theater has served thousands of the community's families and theater lovers through its productions, classes and scholarship programs.
