After selling out prestigious venues like the Bowery Ballroom and Mercury Lounge, Deadbeat Darling has been whisked away from Brooklyn by UK label Spearhavoc Records to record in Wales with Grammy award winning producer Ken Nelson (Coldplay, Gomez, The Charlatans). With a bit of downtown swagger and post-indie charm, their unique sound weaves together rock, surf, and dub in a musical tapestry that is gritty and alluring, like a familiar stranger outside your door at an early morning hours.
THE LIGHTS OUT - The quartet cranks out the perfect soundtrack to a bank heist: breakneck, anthemic pop-rock, with a barrel of catchy choruses and melodies stickier than the High Life coating their sneakers by the end of every practice. Behind a stacked wall of intricate four-part vocal harmonies, THE LIGHTS OUT writes songs about bounty hunters, guys getting killed by volcanoes - and love.
Despite the great pride the band takes in being impulsive, THE LIGHTS OUT maintain an intense work ethic, recording and critiquing every gig like a football team. With their growing reputation for dynamic live shows and the nods they've been receiving from fans and press, they're clearly onto something.
THE LIGHTS OUT released three EPs and an LP between 2007 and 2010, and upped the ante with their first theme album, "Primetime" in 2011.
