The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) published a final rule for Medicaid Home and Community Based Services effective March 17, 2014. DHHS announced a timeline for implementing the Statewide Transition Plan. MCO/LME's and other local lead agencies across NC are holding mandatory training sessions for NC Innovations waiver providers in their networks who provide the services affected by this final rule (Residential Supports, Day Supports and Supported Employment).
TimeLine:
By July 15, 2015 all providers must be trained on the self-assessment tool.
By September 15, 2015 all providers must have submitted a self-assessment on each of their contracted sites where these services take place. This includes all licensed and unlicensed AFL homes.
Training Sessions:
CenterPoint Human Services is offering two sessions on July 13, 2015:
Morning Session-8:30am to 12:30pm or
Afternoon Session- 1:00pm to 5:00pm
Providers are required to send to the training at least 1 management level staff member who will be responsible for the completion of the required self-assessment tools for your agency.
