2011 Bible Symposium at The Cathedral of All Saints
The Diocese of Albany and The Cathedral of All Saints is pleased to announce its 2011 Bible Symposium.
Join noted Theologian and Lecturer in Middle Eastern New Testament Studies Dr. Kenneth E. Bailey for a day of teaching and fellowship. Dr. Bailey's topic will be "Jesus as Theologian" describing his talk by saying: "Generally speaking, the Church in the West sees Jesus as an ethical example and as God's agent in salvation all of which is true and appropriate. However, for theology we generally turn to St. Paul. I am deeply convinced that Jesus is the first mind of the New Testament and that by examining the cultural background to his parables and dramatic actions, we can uncover the profundity of his thought."
The Symposium is being held on Saturday, September 10 from 9:30 to 2:30. Doors open at 8:30 am. Morning coffee and lunch is provided. Ample parking is available on Saturday at the Cathedral. Cost is $15.00 and pre-registration is highly recommended.
