From Main Street To 42nd Street
From Main Street to 42nd Street is a musical that chronicles one young woman's journey from the Central Coast to New York City in pursuit of her dreams. Conceived, written by, and starring SLO native Jacque Carnahan (Pride and Prejudice, The Baker's Wife, Cinderella) and Broadway composer Barbara Anselmi (It Shoulda Been You, Speargrove Presents, and The Orphan Train), Erik Austin's Kelrik Productions is bringing the show to life right where the story began, in San Luis Obispo, this coming August. From her first dance class at The Academy of Dance to the lights of Broadway, From Main Street to 42nd Street is sure to entertain and inspire anyone who has ever had a dream and taken the chance to see it come true.
A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit the Cambria Rotary Club and The Jacque Carnahan Scholarship fund. The second act of the evening will feature Carnahan and several surprise local guests as they sing traditional musical theater repertoire plus tunes from the 40's, 50's and 60's.
Cocktail hour begins at 6:30 and ticket holders are welcome to join the cast after the performance for a reception with a cash bar and desserts.
After playing to packed houses in New York City, see the West Coast Premiere of this inspiring show that will make you believe dreams really do come true.
