Film Contest?

"Film Contest?" is a fictitious story documenting the tragic events which occurred as a result of the "Shoot Sunshine!" film competition resulting in murder. After five filmmakers are selected to compete for a generous grant to shoot a feature film in the State, Miguel Gonzalez and his documentary crew begin an indiscreet look at the "behind the scenes" stories of the controversial film contest, its bizarre finalists and wannabe organizers.

Miguel and his crew soon discover the competition is really a five-million dollar scam. They quickly begin to zoom into the personal lives of each competitor and contest organizer searching for the culprit among the mass of would-be filmmakers. Miguel's struggle to find the truth is augmented by not being able to tell who's faking it among the colorful finalists.

The locally produced film was shot "guerilla style," in its entirety, in just nine days with a budget under ten thousand dollars. The ensemble cast of thirty local actors worked a partially-scripted, partially-improvised story in over twenty separate locations within South Florida.
