Eat Real LA Kickoff Party
Eat good and do good! We're kicking off Eat Real LA with a fundraiser party for two of our awesome non-profit friends, Rootdown L.A. and the Social Justice Learning Institute. Both organizations work hard to get fresh food out to the families of South L.A. and help give the skills to build community. And what better way is there to celebrate good work than with a feast of delicious eats!
Since this is an Eat Real party, you'll get down and dirty and actually make some of the food you eat. You'll learn how to make your own tapenade with The New School of Cooking and burrata with Di Stefano Cheese, and then eat it on our freshly baked bread. You'll also get your hands dirty with a "build-your-own" salad with super local veggies grown from SJLI's community gardens in Inglewood. Other tasty treats we've got lined up include a cornucopia of local, sustainable meats (sliced 'n' juicy), Beachy Cream's natural ice cream sandwiches, live music by ArtistsPalooza band Suicide Cowboy, and an open bar serving Firestone Walker beers, and local wines and non-alcoholic drinks!
And while you're enjoying the tunes and treats, Cast Iron Gourmet, the Farmer's Kitchen, Backyard Bees, and the Sensitive Baker will be displaying their specialties and available for chitchat.
So come support good causes by having a good time! It's win-win.
