THE TURN OF THE SCREW by Henry James
"'A rich, supercilious mystery man. A spooky old house. Two beautiful but enigmatic children. An innocent, friendless governess. And plenty of eerie apparitions...let the shivers fall where they may?'" -The New York Times
The Play: A naive young woman is hired by an enigmatic, wealthy Londoner to care for his orphaned niece and nephew. Once at his remote country estate, ghostly phantoms begin appearing to the governess, leading her to question to her sanity, and the children's innocence.
The Playwright: Jeffrey Hatcher's award-winning plays have been performed on Broadway, Off-Broadway, and regionally across the Us and abroad. His work includes THREE VIEWINGS, SCOTLAND ROAD, A PICASSO, and the adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson's novella, THE STRANGE CASE OF DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE, where, as in THE TURN OF THE SCREW, few actors play many roles. His screenplays include STAGE BEAUTY, CASANOVA, and THE DUCHESS.
