Granville & Buckeye Lake Brewery Tour (August 2015)
Licking county is alive with the spirit of quality craft micro brewing!
Our first stop is Buckeye Lake Brewery, a cosy brewery / taproom set in a cleverly converted gas station on the main strip of Buckeye Lake. We will discuss 'Frankenbrewing" which is how the unique brewing set up in this brewery was created . We fill guests up with pizza or food truck snacks to pair with the first beer samples of the day.
Next on our adventure, Homestead Beer Company specializes in session beers. While this brewery is well off the beaten path (on a former air force base), their beers have earned much attention and accolades in a short period of time. Their recently renovated taproom is a great place to sample several varieties of craft beer.
Our last destination is Granville Brewing Company, a nano-brewery that is not typically open to the public. Here we'll learn about their hearty Belgian style beers and small-batch bottling process. And what is there not to love about a tasting room with a couch and pinball machine?
This contrasting set of breweries offers a great introduction to Ohio microbreweries and a fun Sunday afternoon day trip. Bring a growler or buy one to take more craft beer home, we have plenty of room to store them for you.
This brewery tour is priced at $65.00. It includes tastings at 3 breweries food, air-conditioned van transportation between all of the stops, and a guide with plenty of local beer knowledge. It lasts about 5 hours. Please check the calendar for available dates or contact us to arrange a private tour.
If you are interested in a pick-up or drop off in Granville or Buckeye Lake contact Jim at: Jim@ColumbusBrewAdventures.com
The van has storage for up to 12 growlers and at most stops, there is time to purchase additional samples.
