Stories of the Macabre
The Guild Theater presents a concert of readings of tales of horror and the supernatural, from some of the greatest writers in the genre. Featured are such giants as Edgar Allen Poe, Washington Irving, Saki, and W.W. Jacobs, in classics like "The Tell-Tale Heart", "The Raven", "The Cask of Amontillado" and, "Laura'. A perfect primer / accompaniment to halloween. Come be scared!
Why fight the traffic, deal with the Kennedy, or pay high ticket and parking prices to see a great show. Come to the convenient Leela Arts Center in the historic Masonic Temple building. Great entertainment at very reasonable prices, and great restaurant options all within walking distance of the theater for a great night out.

Pace Bus service runs on Northwest Highway with stops at the corner of Lee St. and Northwest Highway mere steps from the theater.
Parking:Ample free parking in a City of Des Plaines lot across the street from the theater.
This is a non-smoking facility.
This facility is not accessible by wheelchair as the theater is located on the second floor of the building one flight of stairs to reach the lobby. However, work to meet the ADA needs are in progress and expected to be completed by 6/30/16.
