Dog Sweat
Dog Sweat is a courageous film by Hossein Keshavarz. Filmed in secretly Iran, the film explores issues in contemporary Iran with homosexuality, feminism, sexual freedom, and the contradictions of being part of a majority youth culture ruled by an aging tradition of the religious authority. Trapped within this oppressive culture, the lives of seven young Iranians converge in Keshavarz' film, as they learn to negotiate their cultural identity and desire for social freedom. Dog Sweat provokes stirring conversations about what it means to be a nation and how to negotiate being Iranian and modern.
