The 4th annual Dancing with the Bars will be an event modeled after ABC's hit show Dancing with the Stars. Rather than celebrities, the event will bring popular bartenders, bar owners & managers, or personalities who work in bars together with professional ballroom dance instructors and showcase the art of dance.
This year's all-star cast includes:
Afeelya Bunz, a local performer who is representing Apollo's Brian Fischetti, a bartender at Pat O's Bunkhouse Deon Brown, the editor of IONAZ Magazine Gina Florio, a bartender at Kobalt Mike Fornelli, the owner of BS West Mike Jacobs, the owner of The Rock Mike Weidmann, the general manager of Charlie's Natalie Cianciola, representing the Cash Inn Country, home of the SWAY/Bud Light Bottle Model Girls Stephen Serna, a bartender at Friends Again
Each competitor will be paired with a professional dance instructors and train for a once in a lifetime performance. Leading up to the event, each competitor's progress will be documented for a special video montage that will be played at the showcase. At this event, the dancers will showcase their progress and be evaluated by a panel of judges for their chance to win a grand prize and the title of Dancing with the Bars Champions 2011.
A portion of the proceeds from the entire project will be donated to Joshua Tree Feeding Program, which was started in 1988 to provide a safe environment where people living with HIV/AIDS could come together to share experiences, good food and mutual support, serving an average of 120 clients a weekly hot lunch and send 100 clients home with supplemental groceries, and an average of 130 clients on the 2nd & 4th Friday of each month Ryan White funded food boxes. All services are at no cost to clients. Joshua Tree is an All-Volunteer organization that depends on the generosity of fine people and other organizations who donate their time, food and financial assistance to the program, and SWAY Events and the competitors of Dancing With The Bars are excited to be raising funds for this worthy organization.
