Stand-Up Comedy Fundraiser
Local Group Supporting the Troops with Laughter The purpose of the planned event is to help raise money for injured military servicemen and women and their families.
On Saturday, July 23, 2011 local comedian Anna Phillips presents a stand-up comedy showcase at the Palace Theater in Eastwood to benefit the Wounded Warriors Project. Team DPS is hosting a comedy show fundraiser to help reach their $10,000 goal for the Wounded Warrior Project. *Please note the change in line-up* This showcase will feature fan favorite and frequent host at The Comedy Club in Rochester- Chet Wild from Buffalo, winner of the "Funniest Comic in New England" David Moon from Connecticut, Syracuse's own T. Blunt in his last official show before he departs for Atlanta, Michael Terry after his recent successful audition at the famous Comic Strip Live, Matt Kelly from Albany and perhaps a couple of special guests.
Hosted by local comedian Anna Phillips and local veteran Jon LeBaron. Doors open at 7pm. Show starts at 8pm. Tickets cost $15 (cash only) at the door.
Proceeds will be donated by a volunteer group called "Team DPS" to help reach its $10,000 fundraiser goal for the Wounded Warrior Project. So far, over $4000 has been raised through participation in local races, such as the Mountain Goat Run and Tipp Hill Run, as well bottle recycling drive, and selling bracelets, T-shirts and more.
