Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
Placer Community Theater's most ambitious event! Featuring the beautiful voices of Lyra Dominguez as the 'Narrator', Kenny Gagni as 'Joseph' and Tammy Vanella, a true Lyric Soprano in various choral arrangements. Also featured is Philip Jacques who returns from his hilarious performance as 'Manolo' in the female version of "The Odd Couple" as the stylized Elvis Presley Pharaoh.
The show tells the story of Joseph and his Coat of Many Colors. It is narrated throughout by the 'Narrator', Lyra Dominguez. "We are truly fortunate to have her in the show" says Amy Linden, Director. "Lyra is an award winning soloist. She has appeared with the Sacramento Opera and is best known locally as Tuptim in the recent CATS production of 'The King and I'. This is the part she has always wanted and Auburn will be thrilled with her performance." You are invited to learn more about Lyra here: www.lyradominguez.com.
Kenny is thrilled to play Joseph in his debut with Placer Community Theatre. Kenny is an Elly Award-nominated actor who has appeared with El Dorado Musical Theatre, Civic Theatre West, Runaway Stage Productions, and numerous others. His favorite leading roles include Aladdin/Aladdin, Bobby Child/Crazy For You, Wiz/The Wiz, Angel/RENT, Tony/The Boy Friend, Danny Zuko/Grease, and most recently, Chip Tolentino in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and Evan Goldman in 13: The Musical. Directors and cast agree that Kenny brings to Joseph sensitivity and joy that few actors can match.
The production also showcases the creative director talents of Pattie Baker and Pattiey Leftridge. Patti Baker brings her choreography brilliance and has designed 10 special dance routines for the show consisting of "Patti's Dancers", members of previous works with her, and members of the cast. Pattiey Leftridge is the show's musical driving force. She brings to the group her professional experience as a performer and her educational experience as a teacher. Filling out the group is the costume artistry of Joyce Sylva. The combination makes this production visually, aurally and emotionally exciting in every sense.
JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT as only Placer Community Theater can do it. See it again, for the very first time.

Q&A
Question: |
How great! Can tickets be purchased at the door? |
Answer: |
Yes, but they are more expensive ($25) and not recommended. At our last play, The Odd Couple, we had to turn away many people because the show sold out hours before through Brown Paper Tickets. |
