Mary Lee Hu
A rare opportunity to study with internationally renowned metalsmith and former UW professor, Mary Lee Hu! In this 2 day workshop, Mary Lee Hu will demonstrate some of the many ways round metalwire can be used in processes borrowed from the field of basketry and fibers. Participants will learn twisting, wrapping, looping, complex braiding, knitting, soumak, weaving and twining. Each participant will have the opportunity to create samples of several of the different processes demonstrated. No metalworking experience required. Dates: September 10-11th 9.30-5.30 both days.
