Invasive Plants: Their Ecology and Management
Ecologist Peter Warner will provide an introduction to the identification, ecology, and management of several wildland weeds, aka "invasive" plant species, common in Sonoma County. We'll also consider ecological "invasions" from various social, cultural, and economic perspectives.  What can plants tell us about human attempts to "manage" ecosystems?  Are plant species invasions a symptom of broader or deeper ecological concerns?  Bring a small collection of non-native plant samples for identification. (Open for ages 15 and up.)
