2011 Northwest Paddling Festival & Kayak Raffle
The Northwest Paddling Festival (NWPF), the brainchild of Alki Kayak and Mountain to Sound Outfitters owner Greg Whittaker is taking shape as a major event set to happen at Jack Block Park (and Seacrest Marina) in West Seattle June 25-26.
Duwamish River Cleanup Coalition/Technical Advisory Group (DRCC/TAG) is a festival partner; we are the public involvement organization working with EPA on the Duwamish River Superfund cleanup.
To encourage Duwamish River recreation, DRCC/TAG will raffle off an Eddyline Sandpiper sea kayak at the NWPF, which retails for $1249. (http://www.eddyline.com/eddyline-kayaks/sandpiper) to ONE lucky winner. Purchase $20 raffle tickets for the sea kayak by visiting our booth. Come on down to the event, learn about local paddle sports and enjoy Seattle's newest beach!
DRCC will have a booth at the NWPF, sharing information about the Duwamish River Superfund cleanup, how to get involved, and recreation opportunities in Seattle's only river.
The main festival site is a beach at the Port of Seattle's Jack Block Park, which will be opened for the first time in over 100 years to public access through the Superfund Cleanup process, in cooperation with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
