JOE'S CAFE
"JOE'S CAFE" is a musical revue of songs based on true stories. Evoking the welcoming atmosphere of an all night cafe, Rupert Wates And Friends deliver fifteen songs that retell the experience of ordinary Americans, and through them trace the story of America itself.

RUPERT WATES (author/composer): Born in London, he has been based since 2007 in New York City. In the last few years alone he has won over 25 songwriting awards. A full time musician and songwriter, he performs between 120 and 150 live shows a year, in venues in every state in North America
NANCY A JONES is a dynamic and powerful vocalist and songwriter based in San Francisco. Her CD 'Never Mind The Screaming' is available on CD Baby. STACEY LORIN is a singer and actress based in New York City. She is the director of 'Realize Your Beauty', a non-profit organization that uses theater to promote positive body image among young people.
DAVE TURNER is a pianist, singer and songwriter based in Asheville, North Carolina. His vocal style conveys well the subject matter of his songs, inspired by subjects such as empty pockets and starry skies, Kentucky bourbon, late-night diners, old lovers, Blue Ridge mountains, California dreams, desperation, roadside shrines, hangovers, unsent letters, beer joints, bar buddies, staying put and getting away.
JOE'S CAFE was premiered at the Metropolitan Room in New York City in December 2009. It has since been performed at venues in Philadelphia, the south eastern United States, and at Fringe Festivals from Toronto to San Francisco. It has gained outstanding reviews and won the prize for BEST MUSIC REVUE at the San Francisco Fringe in 2010.
