Headliner: Jamie Ward
Hi, I'm Jamie Ward, a comedian based in Atlanta, Georgia. My comedy comes straight out of my crazy mixed-up life. I am the Korean adopted son of a father from New York and a mother from Tennessee. I have served in the U.S. Army in Afghanistan. I've tried acting, modeling, and even bull-riding. I was training to become a professional ballroom dancer when I finally found stand-up comedy.
My confusion in life translates into a comedy style that is forged from a unique background, yet is relatable to anyone who isn't quite sure where they fit in. My jokes are fast, funny and smart enough to entertain book lovers, yet simple enough for the reality TV crowd.
Since my start in comedy, I have had many great opportunities. I've performed in festivals, competitions, and of course at clubs and colleges across the country. In 2011, I was featured on the cover of Atlanta's Creative Loafing magazine, and profiled with artists from other fields in an article about the eight most interesting figures in Atlanta.
I have been described as one of the fastest-rising comedians to come out of Atlanta. If you haven't heard of me, it's only because you're not watching Comedy Central in the future.
Featuring: Sandy Goddard
Sandy was born in Knoxville, TN with a built in Southern twang and smarts to match. His interest in comedy began when he was kicked off an elementary school field trip for telling dirty jokes to the other children. His popularity with his classmates continued to grow as his talent developed. When he reached adulthood, Sandy decided to join his father in the family business and began traveling the country, visiting dirt tracks as a race car driver. He poured his heart into racing, but the call of the stage was strong.
In February 2007, Sandy climbed on stage for the first time. As the performance wound to a close, a lady in the crowd shouted, "You ain't funny. You need to kill yo'self," and Sandy was hooked. He honed his craft, becoming a man possessed with the anatomy of a joke. He understands what funny is and how to lead the crowd to the laugh.
Sandy has had the privilege of working with several accomplished comics including Spanky Brown, Josh Sneed, James Johann and Mo Alexander, just to name a few. He has performed at Side Splitters, the Comedy Catch and on several Comedy Zone stages throughout the years. Sandy has competed in several comedy competitions. He reached the semi-final round in the Southeastern Funniest People Search at the Comedy Catch, competed in the Carnival Cruise Challenge at the Comedy Zone and won the Wild Card to Las Vegas event at Side Splitters Comedy Club.
Sandy's comedy comes from a lack of understanding regarding his surroundings and it seems that the older he gets, the less he understands. Being married, raising children and dealing with family are currently his favorite subjects. He has been tagged the "Dysfunctional Dad" from some of his closest friends and he wears the moniker proudly. Many describe his comedy as a cross between having your eyes poked out and receiving an electric shock; but any way you look at it, Sandy is guaranteed entertainment.
Special Guest: Jennifer Lynch
Originally from Southern Indiana, Jennifer now makes her home in Atlanta, GA. You can find Jennifer performing in clubs, bars, and basements across the U.S. Recently she performed at the biggest fetish festival in the Southeast. Jennifer will bring her comedy anywhere. Once asked to speak at a family member's funeral, she replied, "How much time do I get?" She brings laughter to a wide variety of audiences with her delightfully dark humor, and twisted views on everyday life. Known for her quick wit, Jennifer's ability to come up with jokes off the top of her head keeps her winning open mic competitions.
Host: DJ Buckley
D.J. Buckley is a Nashville-based comic and a current world record holder for the world's longest stand up comedy show. Also he is decent at Rock, Paper, Scissors.
