An old man who has lost his senses reading too many chivalric romances imagines himself a knight by the name of Don Quixote de la Mancha. With his horse, Rocinante, and his faithful squire, Sancho Panza, he leaves his village to seek adventure.
It is not long in coming, as Don Quixote views all he encounters through a lens of knightly derring-do. He mistakes an innocent shepherd for an evil wizard, routs a flock of sheep he knows to be an army of enemies, believes a country girl to be his imagined lady love, Dulcinea del Toboso, and attacks a windmill thinking it a giant.
When he finally meets his great enemy, the Knight of the White Moon--who is really the village scholar in disguise--a furious combat ensues that will decide Don Quixote's fate. Will he continue his gallant quests, or finally return to a peaceful life at home?
The play by Conrad Seiler, adapted from the famous novel by Cervantes, is directed by Benjamin Gonzales.
"The Wonderful Adventures of Don Quixote" is presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc., New York.
