30 DAYS IN SEPTEMBER takes an intricate and in-depth look into at the journey of Mala, who years after being abused meets Deepak, a man who refuses to stop loving her. Abhimanyu Katyal (Deepak) Abhi acts all the time. People prefer it to Abhi singing all the time, so he is happy to comply and make life entertaining for anyone that has the misfortune to be around him at any given moment. Given some self-esteem issues he has to work out, he does not charge his friends, family, cats and colleagues for the non-stop entertainment he provides. But now that the thought has struck him.....
Nandini Minocha (Mala) Mala is deftly played by Nandini Minocha, a talented actress who garnered the Best Actress Award at the Marin Fringe Festival in 2009 and 2010 (2nd Place), and the Audience Vote in 2009. She was last seen in The Little Prince, and will be seen in the What About The Couch? at the SF Fringe Festival in September where she will reprise her role. Her stage credits include Little Women, Anne Karenina, and Where there is a will. She has also appeared in short films like Goodbye, See you Later, and Crossing the Void.
Rashmi Rustagi (Shanta)is a talented, seasoned actor who has been acting for radio and stage since the age of nine. She is trained in the Miesner method of acting as well as voice overs. She has worked in several films, plays and commercials as well as emceed several live entertainment shows. She has appeared in TV show including TRAUMA and CROSSING BOUNDARIES. Her stage credits include BABY TAJ, TRUTH BEHIND THE TABLE, and KASTURI MRIG. Rashmi is a member of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG), Actor's Equity Association (AEA), and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.
Ranjita Chakravarty (Shanta) In her spare time Ranjita is active with the local bay area theater community and has appeared in several productions with Naatak (Jis Lahore, Patol Babu Film Star, Where there's a Will), Renegade Theater Experiment (Titus Andronicus) and the Marin Fringe Festival (The Little Prince), Stanford Drama Department (Betrayed). She has also acted in two feature films (Perfect Mismatch, Bicycle Bride) and several independent short films featured at Cine Quest and various film festivals. Ranjita has two college going children (Arjun and Alisha) and works at Stanford University to help pay the bills.
Rooben Morgan (Director) is an actor/director who has been working intermittently with Bay Are theatre companies over the last ten years.. Here he reprises his direction from a year ago when this play as staged as the West Coast Premiere. He is also the founder and Artistic director of IndiStage.
