Build A Drum Workshop

Come learn how to make your very own African hand drum! This class is perfect for anyone (age 10+) looking to have a great time learning about the history and playing techniques of the hand drum while creating their very own drum from scratch. Each class day, students will work on their own personal drum, learn the history behind the instrument, and learn to play basic drum grooves. Session ends with a drum circle jam and students will be able to take home their very own customized hand drum!

Adults are also encouraged to sign up! Drums are professional quality over a $300 value!

Instructor: Tim Stephenson (Percussion, Piano, Voice, Guitar)
Tim is a graduate of CSU Sacramento with a Bachelors in Music Performance. He is a well rounded percussionist versed in classical, jazz, rock, pop, and latin, as well as marching techniques for both drumline and mallets. He is well versed in all styles of piano, jazz and pop vocals, and rock guitar. Tim's passion for music and teaching is evident in his versatility as a musician as well as his enthusiasm with his students. He is always positive and guides his students with patience and humor.
