Seattle Japanese Garden
Presents an Evening of
MOONVIEWING
(tsukimi no kai)
Saturday, Aug 25th, 2007
7:00 to 10:00 p.m.
(Gate will open at 6:15)
The garden is magically lit with lanterns luminaries and floating boats in celebration of the harvest moon. Enjoy an evening of unique entertainment. Including vignettes of classical and traditional dance with a moon theme, koto and shakuhachi performances, by Duo En, and Japanese Art Songs by Soprano Fumi Tagata.
Listen to poetry of the night sky and write your own haiku.
View a special appearance by the moon (weather permitting) through telescopes.
Tea ceremonies will be held in the Shoseian Teahouse every 40 minutes. Additional charge for tea and sweets.
