Drinkers & Thinkers at Nordo's Culinarium
Kicking off our Summer Nights of Drinkers & Thinkers is a fantastic storyteller and an international expert in LGBTI (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersexual) refugees. Jennifer Rumbach serves as International Organization for Migration's LGBTI Focal Point to the United Nations. Visiting Seattle after an extended stay in Nepal working on the current humanitarian crisis, Jennifer has worked with refugees in North and West Africa, the Middle East and Asia. Since leaving Baghdad three years ago, Jennifer has developed a five-module training program for humanitarian organizations, "Working with LGBTI Persons in Forced Displacement" and writes about and advises organizations on serving LGBTI people in humanitarian crisis. She has delivered training in a number of countries, including Ecuador, India, Iraq, Lebanon, Kenya, Pakistan, Russia, South Africa, and Sri Lanka. Jenn speaks of her time in war zones with razor wit and intelligent compassion.
