Chris Barron

Chris Barron is many things to many people: the voice of the Spin Doctors, the face of the jamband scene, an MTV superstar, an East Village troubadour, the author of some of the 1990s' most enduring radio hits, a father
and a teacher. In the '90s his band made the cover of Rolling Stone magazine and scored two hits on Billboard's top five.
But then Chris was struck with acute paralysis of his vocal chords. The Spin Doctors disbanded, and Chris dedicated years of therapy and hard work to regaining his ability to talk and sing. Now fully recovered, Barron has reinvented himself as a solo musician. Since 2001 he has released albums that highlight the songwriting that is his essential strength as a musician. His latest release, Songs From The Summer of Sangria, is a song-oriented mixture of rock and that showcases the beauty, versatility, subtlety and raw emotional power of his memorable voice.
